About Treatment

Dr. Sciarrillo has undergone advanced training to develop the knowledge and skill  necessary to evaluate and treat not only spinal related conditions, but also many other injuries and issues within the body.  Whether it is pain in the foot from Plantar Fasciitis or pain in the shoulder from Impingement Syndrome, she is capable of determining the potential for cause and offering a myriad of conservative treatment options to the patient for resolution the condition.

Dr. Sciarrillo utilizes many different and complimenting methods in the normal treatment protocols with her patients.  From more traditional chiropractic spinal manipulation to a more advanced use of manual decompression and low force instrument applied adjustments after training in Activator Method® techniques. In addition, she also was trained in Active Release Technique® (or ART®), NIMMO soft tissue technique, basic stretching techniques including post isometric relaxation and is able to utilize a variety of techniques to customize a soft tissue treatment for her patients. Other physical modalities that are common in treatments include lumbosacral flexion distraction, Infrared Light Therapy, and Ultrasound.  With certain conditions, Dr. Sciarrillo utilizes the emerging science and art of Physiotherapy taping to assist and support the patient outside of the office.

Dr. Sciarrillo treats athletes of all ages and abilities from elementary school beginners to masters level champions.  These patients seek and find benefit to many different types of aches and pains in their back, neck, arms and legs.  This treatment allows for better performance during training and practice and ultimately pays off during competition.

For the weekend warriors and amateur athletes, or those that aspire to live a healthy lifestyle, treatment can enhance body mechanics, relieve pain and optimize function in all activities of daily living. Part of the geriatric population? Don’t worry, Dr. Sciarrillo has a gentle, low force, adaptive approach that allows you to enjoy the same pain relief and improved function.

Not to leave out our families, Dr. Sciarrillo tailors these same approaches to appropriately treat patients from our tiniest babies to our experienced parents. The physical demands of growth spurts, injuries, change of season, and change of activity are times when patients from infancy to adolescence to adulthood can benefit from chiropractic care. She also specializes in the treatment of pregnant patients as pregnancy can be a challenging time with the demands of an ever changing body. She has the tools and adaptions to allow for pregnant patients to comfortably lay on the table and receive the safe chiropractic care that can allow for pain relief and management of any physical challenges that arise before and after giving birth.
